Others experience

I was at another station for a break (yes we occasionally get them) a couple of days ago and I thought you would like the story.

A crew were making their way back from the Hospital to their base station out of town when they came across what they thought was a drunk driver. This was a guess as the driver was swaying about the road from one side to the other bouncing of the barriers on the bypass so they thought well follow and call the fuzz.

They did. they followed down the length of the bypasss round the roundabout three times when all lights were red (obviously not to the car driver who could not focus on any lights) keeping just a little back they started back up the bypass in the opposite direction.

Control called to say that the police we on their way from four different directions to stop them should they try and make a run for it. so in the distance the crew saw blue lights lots and lots of them in all directions so to let them know where they were they quickly flashed their own blues. at which point the driver obviously saw them for the first time and pulled in to the hard shoulder and stopped.

No fuss no hassel.
Good use of resources you be the judge.
The driver asked where they were how they got their and said they had taken some drugs because they were upset.
Not half as much as they were going to be
